UX Journey Timeline
Coming from a rewarding career spanning branding, infographics, and UI design, I made the transition into User Experience in the early 2010s, where I could bring my visual storytelling into a new dimension.
2013
Genesys
Cloud Platform
Sr. UX/UI
At Genesys, I worked on omni-channel enterprise applications and complex user journeys, transitioning their suite from on-premise to cloud.
2017
Ontario Government
ONRequest • Portal Phase 1
UX Lead
At the Ontario Government, I led UX for Phase 1 of the ONRequest portal, redesigning a legacy procurement system through user research, flow remapping, and stakeholder collaboration.
2019
Fido (Rogers)
OneView • Agent Portal
UX Lead
At Rogers, I led UX for Fido OneView, a unified front-line platform replacing five legacy tools across two brands.
2020
Ontario Government
ONRequest • Portal Phase 2
UX Lead
Returning to the Ontario Government, I delivered Phase 2 of ONRequest — a mobile-first overhaul of the provincial employee portal serving 30+ ministries.
2022
Netomi
Agentic Studio
UX Manager & Lead
At Netomi, I led UX for a no-code AI platform, establishing all UX team foundations, managing and growing a design team, and building a detailed design system that scaled across the product.

Ongoing Learning 2025-26

Publishing WCAG Tools
Vibe coded and published a Figma Make community tool to generate AA-compliant colour sets for dual-theme designs, augmented with AI prompt-based colour selection for faster, smarter suggestions.

AI Continual Learning
Regularly follow AI and industry trends on LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube, engaging actively on LinkedIn; planning to use Gemini's NotebookLM to organize bookmarked AI training videos. A favorite poster on all things LLM-related is Nate Jones (@nate.b.jones).

Figma Sites - Responsive layout
Launched this summer, Figma Sites streamlines responsive website creation with built-in publishing. Wondering if you’ve seen a Figma Sites website lately? You’re looking at one! I’ve used Sites to rebuild two portfolios and create one client site.

Figma Make - AI Vibe Coding
Launched this summer, Figma Make aims to contend with today’s 3rd-party prompt-driven vibe-coding tools. Using a product PRD I wrote in Gemini for a SaaS app concept, I pushed Make as far as possible. With its limitations, I even tried building a custom CMS on top. Happy to share more if you’re interested.

LLM-Assisted Product PRDs
The way future apps are built is starting to shift, and a solid PRD sits at the core of any vibe-coding workflow. I’ve used Gemini and ChatGPT to generate PRDs that kick off product mocks in Bolt, Lovable, Replit, and Figma Make. These tools work well for quick mock-ups but are still maturing for large-scale SaaS development.

Sora Video Prompting & YouTube
I’ve started building several storyline themes in Sora, then generating headless YouTube channels to more broadly distribute. Currently set up 6 channels with the most popular short videos receiving thousands of views within a week.

Gemini Gems Prompt Engineering
Engineered several Gemini Gems — custom AI workflows that tailor Gemini's behaviour for specific tasks or contexts. Two standouts: 1. Tarot card reader who can summarize any spread. 2. Interview Prep, where I pretend to be the interviewer, and the AI summarizes responses based on my resume and other factors.

Gemini Storybook Creation
Experimented with Gemini's Storybook feature to create children's books with AI-generated visuals. One can think of this as the vibe coding of books with images to tell a basic story. The ‘books’ are forever tweak-able by prompt.

Corporate Photo Batch AI Processing
Batch-cleaned corporate profile photos using ChatGPT and Nano Banana in Adobe Photoshop, transforming mismatched themes into a cohesive team. Once I generated the correct background and clothing style in one image, I applied it to the group.

Browser-Based AI
Traditional bespoke conversational AI methods are tied to specific enterprise sites. Browser-based AI copilots and agentic workflows democratize advanced search and summarization across the web. Currently exploring new AI browsers from Strawberry, Perplexity, and OpenAI.

Upcoming: MCP & UX Copilot
Currently setting up and testing MCP capabilities in Figma for prompt-generated solutions. And soon, I’ll be trying out UX Copilot pluh-in for Figma.

AI & Crypto Payments Exploration
Exploring the intersection of AI and crypto payments, particularly how blockchain technologies like XRP could evolve or complement systems such as SWIFT. Interested in how AI agents will require near-instant settlement. Currently learning about smart contracts on Ethereum and crypto-backed ETFs.

The way future apps are built is changing. And at the core of any vibe coding solution is a strong PRD. So far, I’ve used Gemini and ChatGPT to write product PRDs to kick off product mocks in Bolt, Lovable, Replit and Figma Make.

About Paul
Throughout my UX career, I've built foundations and design systems across enterprise platforms, with storytelling at the centre of my approach. My larger background in branding, infographics, and UI design shaped how I craft user experiences, focusing on clarity, narrative flow, and human-centred communication. I've designed for government portals, large data-driven cloud tools, and most recently led a UX team at Netomi, establishing the practice and growing it from the ground up.
Today, I'm seeking leadership opportunities while staying hands-on with design and AI, building solutions using Figma Make and Figma Sites, working with LLMs to craft detailed PRDs and custom Gemini Gems, and exploring AI-related tools to refine scalable, intelligent workflows. I'm focused on creating digital experiences that make complex systems intuitive and human-centred, pushing the boundaries of product design with emerging AI tools.
